A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited bulk messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward inbound email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

You will be able to set up a catch-all email mailbox effortlessly if you’ve got a shared hosting plan with our company. The Email Manager in our in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel is feature-loaded, yet extremely user-friendly, and it will permit you to enable different options, including the catch-all one, with just a few clicks. All the mailboxes that you’ve created will be shown in alphabetical order in this section and on the right side of each one you will notice a tiny "Catch-all" icon. Clicking it once will enable the feature, clicking it twice will disable it. Since you can have just one such catch-all mailbox per domain name, our system will notify you if you’ve already got another one with this feature activated or if you have activated email forwarding.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled without any difficulty in case you have a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will notice a small-size icon conveniently situated right next to each of them. With only one click, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option using the contextual menu that will pop up. In case any of the preconditions for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will notify you, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
